PDX Concourse A HVAC Upgrades Project

This HVAC system upgrade is a 36,280 square foot HVAC remodel of the Alaska Airlines Terminal & Operations Offices at the Portland International Airport in Portland, Oregon. Hydro-Temp is providing the complete general contracting scope of work for this $850,000 project. The existing packaged DX cooling rooftop air hander and fan-powered terminal units, wholly inadequate for meeting the current heating & cooling needs of the space, are being replaced with a new roof mounted heat pump air handler with heat recovery, and variable refrigerant flow heat recovery fan coil system. The PDX airport is a 24/7 facility, allowing for limited night-time installation durations to minimize passenger and airline operations conflicts. In addition, Concourse A is PDX's busiest terminal, often experiencing standing-room-only conditions during peak travel hours. Hydro-Temp will remove and replace the existing HVAC system while maintaining the comfortable space temperatures required at all PDX Terminals.

Specific work includes structural upgrades to accommodate the new air handler and roof mounted heat pumps, roof deck and roofing removal and replacement, fireproofing, ceiling repair, miscellaneous architectural upgrades and changes, new refrigerant and electrical piping for the fan coils, DDC controls, commissioning, testing, and balancing services.
